Recently the lovely people at Posterlounge got in touch and offered us the chance to try out some of the pictures. As regular readers will know it’s not that long since we gave H’s bedroom a major overhaul and changed it into a space that H will be happy to call his own throughout his teenage years. Whilst most of the hard work was done during the summer, it was still a bit bare in places and the walls certainly needed bringing to life with some colour and interest.
Now I was keen to get a balance between decorative and educational. He’s already got a map of the world, so I was thinking of something else. This colourful periodic table is attractive to look at, but should help him with his school work too. I’ve placed it close to his desk so he can see it when he’s doing his homework. I also considered getting a graphic representing the solar system like this one.
H is a boy who knows his own mind though and I certainly couldn’t pick out all the art for his room. He was very taken with a number of designs in the fantasy and space sections of Posterlounge’s collections. He decided to go for pictures with red in them as red is the main accent colour for his room decor and he wanted something to complement the look of the room. This large print of a dragon entitled Dance to Ashes really does look stunning on his wall and it justifies the pride of place position he’s given it. It’s opposite his bed so it’s something he will see a lot of the time. Like the other print it’s on acrylic glass. This works really well I feel as it has an uncluttered modern look as there is no frame. I liked the fact that the picture was lightweight so it was easy to put up and I’m not worried about the plaster being up to the job. H is really pleased with his choice and the prints we picked out between us have really enhanced the look and feel of the room.
I have great news for my readers too: Posterlounge are offering a £50 credit to spend in store as a prize in my latest competition.
