So last Saturday H went on a hike with cubs. Essentially this meant that I drove him to cubs and he walked to the park near home for some activities and then walked back again. He did walk over 6 miles though so it was quite an achievement, but he was tired afterwards and into the next day.
On Sunday we went to the National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham to take a look at their new Octopus Hideout. It’s always a favourite place to visit and it isn’t far away for us, so it’s an easy trip out.
Tuesday meant a trip to the vets. H insists on coming along so we have to go after school. A trip to the vets is never popular: one cat whines all the way in the car and then stops at the vets; and the other is fine in the car, but starts whining when we get to the vets. So the whole time someone is unhappy. Bracken has lost some weight and I need to keep an eye on her. I think it happened earlier in the year when she had an upset tummy for a few days. She’s a greedy cat normally and barely ate for a few days. She can’t afford not to eat because she is so small and she struggles to put weight back on, as she eats much more than our other cat anyway, and I don’t think she could realistically eat anymore than she does.
I’ve been a bit under the weather this week with a bad cold, so it was nice to come back from the school run one morning to find these in the porch. They are a thank you from the school where I was a governor for over 10 years (I finished recently) to thank me for my service. I was really chuffed.
