Well we’ve had a couple of weeks of getting back into normal after half term. I started off the two weeks trying to put the cold and cough behind me, that I’d picked up on the plane coming back from Germany (I think at least). I’m fine now, but the cough took a while to shift. The weather has been a bit dismal, but I’ve tried to make the most of what is left of autumn before winter arrives. Hence these photos which I’ve taken round and about. I got an unexpected autumnal walk with H when we had to go looking for faces in places for a school homework project. He had to take pictures of ‘faces’ he saw in other things like tree bark or wallpaper.
Back to exercise for me too after my cold. My first swim in three weeks was a bit slow, but I soon got back into the swing of things. It was good to stretch out at yoga too.
Back to work too with a few new projects in the pipeline, but it’s not been as busy as I’d like. Hopefully the Christmas rush is about to start.
I have been trying to do a few different things if the opportunities come my way. One such opportunity on Monday this week was to go to see the darts in Wolverhampton. It was a big tournament, but this was the opening night so tickets were cheaper. It was more fun than I thought and there were lots of people there. The drinks were a bit pricey though – usually they are a bit cheaper when you venture into the Black Country, but in this case they were expensive as it’s a captive audience I guess.
I had thought that bar and restaurant openings would have finished now as it is getting close to Christmas. I’d forgotten about pop-ups though and enjoyed a night out at a fairy light themed bar in the centre of town called Once Upon a Time in Birmingham.
