So this has been the first full week back at school for H. He spent the weekend with his Dad and I celebrated a friend’s 60th birthday. He’s been complaining of tiredness and he felt under the weather for a few days. It seemed like it was the end of term, not the beginning (after a long holiday). He missed Scouts because he didn’t feel up to going – I must admit I don’t really enjoy doing the Scouts run so if he doesn’t want to go, I tend to go with that. He seems to have bounced back now. I’ve spent the week getting back into the routine. Most things were back to normal this week and the last will slot back in on Monday when my German class restarts after the break.
I’ve done quite a lot of reading over the summer and I’ve somehow ordered a lot of books from the library. I think I may have overdone it slightly. Often that means a juggling act as I try to balance what I want to read next with what I should read next (books that I won’t be able to renew because there is someone waiting for them). Luckily this time I can have a free choice and I think it will be one of the crime mysteries that I pick to read first.
Back to school means back to countryside walks with a friend. She has more free time at the moment as she does supply teaching and it takes a time to gear back up after the summer holidays (teachers are presumably well rested at the moment and less likely to be sick). I’ve been back to yoga and swimming too. Although I did end up missing one session of both this week, partly because I had to fit in going to Solihull to pick up a voucher I’d won – £50 for TGI Fridays. I’ve been quite busy work wise recently too which is good, but does mean that fitting everything in isn’t as easy.
Just bought a pile of books from the charity shop. Its been ages since ive found the time to read
Glad to hear that H is feeling back to normal now. That is very soon to be feeling under the weather! Good to hear you’ve got a decent amount of work and it must be so nice to go for walks in the countryside with a friend.
bglad H is settling in to the routine and is less tired, think it is often a matter of getting use to a bed time and up time again.
Well done on the win, they are to far away from us for me to enter comps for them.
It’s nice to be back in routine isn’t it. Well done on the voucher win.
Our reception class teacher at school only did 2 days before she went off sick. She’s still not back yet! Very unusual though.
I’m glad H is feeling better now.
You do have a good selection of books to read. Enjoy!
Well done with the TGI voucher win! x
countryside walks with your friend sounds lovely
That is good that H is feeling back to normal. It is hard going when they first go back. Good to hear you have a good amount of work, that must take a load off. The walks in the countryside sound nice x
Sorry to hear H was feeling a bit under the weather. The first week is always tiring for rhe kids.
Those books look like a good read!
I think the first full week seems to tire everyone out, doesn’t it? Looks like a lovely place to go for a walk, glad work is keeping you busy #65
Good to hear H is back to normal now, enjoy your TGI Friday voucher, will be nice to have a ‘free’ meal out without reviewing it. Enjoy the reading, I’m enjoying some true crime books this week
Its taken us a while to get back into it. Hope you have been enjoying your books and well done on the win.
