We started the week with H away on holiday with his Dad and me at home trying to get through the to do list. Needless to say I’d been too ambitious and I didn’t manage a big chuck of what was on the list. I did do the essential stuff though. I was glad to see him safely back and then we started gearing up for his cousins arriving from Scotland.
Took Mum and Dad out for a meal review with H at a local pub (this always seems a bit strange as Mum can’t eat anymore, but she seems to like going to new places). We had a nice time, but Mum is struggling with walking any distance at all now. In fact, I had to move the car into the disabled places afterwards as she wouldn’t have made it back to the main car park. We’ve applied for a blue badge for her now as we really need it.
We don’t very often get to see a sunset at the front of the house, or from the house at all, but occasionally during the summer it’s possible because the sun sets later and is further round in the sky (and not behind the hill). We have a nice one to see while H was waiting for his cousins to arrive, but it was dark by the time they came. As soon as the boys arrived they were thick as thieves with H – they get on so well.
Some months ago I shared a picture of the Lego giraffe when it first arrived in Birmingham. This time I have a picture of H with a couple of his cousins in front of it. The Lego Shop was a big hit, but Christmas could be expensive this year.
