Mother Root Review and Competition #Ad

Last year I spent a lot of time in my garden enjoying long hot summer days.  It’s nice to have a long, cool drink to help you through.  I don’t always like to drink alcoholic drinks, so it’s ice to have a grown up drink to enjoy without the booze.

So I was interested to try out the Mother Root I’d been sent.  I served it with sparkling water (with a hint of lemon), but I think you could easily try it with normal sparkling water, tonic water or soda water. It has a tangy taste and certainly you can feel the kick on your taste buds.  I’d recommend stirring it before drinking and also having the mixer on hand for a top up as necessary. It might take a bit of experiment to get the perfect proportions for your palette (a guide is given on the bottle).

One of the things I like about Mother Root is that it is full of good things, so you can feel quite virtuous as you sip away.  There’s pressed ginger juice, blossom honey, organic apple cider vinegar and capsicum.  The ginger and the chilli (capsicum) certainly give the drink that little bit of heat. I really enjoyed it and I can see myself buying another bottle soon.

Update February 2026: I have bought Mother Root a number of times since I first tried it out.  It’s a very grown up sort of drink and I particularly like to service it with some ginger beer.  It’s nice to drink on a sunny afternoon when I need to drive later or have my wits about me.  I really recommend it.
