Keeping cool in these summer months can be troublesome for anyone. Add to that additional problems with temperature control, if for example you are going through the menopause or peri-menopause, and keeping cool at night seems elusive. The last few weeks have been pretty hot here, so it seemed like the ideal time to put Luxear Arc-chill cooling pillowcases to the test.
Luxear Arc-chill cooling pillowcases are made from special Japanese Q-Max 0.43 Cooling Fibers. Basically, the larger Q-max value, the more heat that can be taken away. A normal cooling pillowcase’s Q-max value is 0.2, but Luxear reaches above 0.4. Luxear cooling pillowcase with Arc-Chill TOUCH Technology absorbs and dissipates heat, which helps improve quality of sleep and optimal sleeping temperature.
The cooling pillow case has a double-sided design, which can be flipped over to suit the seasons. The cooling side of this bed pillow cover is silky and cool, perfect for hot summer. The other side is made of 100% cotton fabric, and feels comfortable and soft. The silky soft, cooling pillowcase provides a smooth surface for your face and hair, less friction, less wrinkles, less hair breakage/loss.
I usually sleep on a silk pillowcase for the sake of my hair and skin. This pillowcase seems to achieve much of what the silk pillowcase usually does for me and for a much lower cost. I wake up without my hair being all tangled and knotty, plus it seems kinder on my hair than normal cotton pillowcases.
So does it keep me cool? Yes, it does feel very cool to the touch. It’s a real pleasure to lie back on this cool pillowcase after a hot, sticky day and it seems to maintain that sensation through the night. I’m very impressed. The other side feels cosy and soft and would be perfect for cooler nights. So it’s a pillowcase that could work well for you year round. It’s matt texture keeps the pillow from slipping and sliding around the bed. I’ve really enjoyed using these.
Rather than the usual envelope style opening, this pillowcase is opened and closed with a zip. This works very well and the pillow doesn’t start working its way out like it often seems to. I like the idea of taking the pillowcase away on holiday and popping it over the ones in your room. It’s a easy and lightweight solution to hot nights away on holiday. The zip is hidden away at the side and you are unlikely to end up sleeping on top of it. They are machine washable too, so they are easy to care for, plus they seem to dry quickly. They come in a good range of colours and sizes, so there should be something to suit your bed and your colour scheme.

Disclosure: I was sent the Luxear Arc-chill cooling pillowcases for the purposes of this review.

Ohh a cooling pillowcase sounds like a great idea, especially when the weather gets hot again. And having a zip just makes it so much neater than an envelope x
I had no idea there was such a thing as a cooling pillowcase. Glad to hear they worked well for you, they may be good for me too as I’m at that age!
Wow, cool concept (No Pun Intended) 🙂
