Recently Copper Clothing got in touch and asked me to try out some of their products. I read up a little about the benefits of incorporating copper into items, especially those we use regularly and decided to give a bath towel and a tea towel a try.
Copper Clothing is leading efforts in developing copper-infused technology to address antibiotic resistance and prepare for future pandemics. Their goal is to reduce the spread of infectious diseases by offering high-quality, durable, non-drug, non-invasive, and affordable antimicrobial solutions. Recognizing copper’s significant yet often overlooked antimicrobial properties, Copper Clothing collaborates with partners like the NHS and other leading global institutions to demonstrate copper’s potential in combating antimicrobial resistance and supporting future pandemic responses.
As readers will know I’m a regular swimmer and I try to go most days. I don’t really have the time to be washing and drying towels every day, so it makes sense to have one that I can wash once a week rather than every day. I’d previously been using a bamboo one to dry my body and whilst that had worked fairly well, I felt there was room for improvement. So I was interested to see how I got on with Copper Clothing’s Anti-Microbial Bath Towel and Gym Towel. The first thing I noticed is how lovely and soft it is. As well as feeling luxurious, it works well on a practical basis too as it absorbed moisture easily. Sometimes sports towels can either be a bit rough or not very absorbent, so it’s good to find one that’s soft and absorbent. After a week’s worth of use at the pool, it still smells good and not musty at all. In between uses I hung it up to dry, but I did nothing more than that in terms of aftercare. It was always dry when I came to use it again and it seemed to dry very quickly.
I gave it a wash at the end of the week and then came to use it again on Monday morning. I was pleased to note that it was still soft and absorbent, so it was still performing well after being in the washing machine.
Next up was the Copper-Infused Anti-Microbial Kitchen Hand & Dish Towel which has a thick, good quality feel to it from the start. I like that because I often use a tea towel as a makeshift oven glove for handling things that are a bit too hot rather than just out of the oven hot. It also makes me think that this is a tea towel that can stand up to a bit of wear and tear. Because it’s so a good thickness you could also use it as a hand drying towel if you want. With all those multiple uses going on it’s good to know that copper infused fabric helps destroy bacteria, so you don’t need to wash it as often. Another plus point has been how quickly the towel dried. It didn’t seem to stay damp for long even on dull days without the heating on. It’s been through the wash a couple of times and has come up good as new.
I’ve been very happy with these products and I’ll probably buy some more as I come to replace items for the kitchen and bathroom.
Disclosure: I was sent a bath towel and a tea towel for the purposes of this review.
