Mother’s Day Special Gift Idea Review: Underwater Light Show

I was thrilled to be chosen as one of Find Me A Gift’s mother’s day gift reviewers.  My special present to review was an Underwater Light Show.  I think us mums all appreciate some sort of gift or treat for Mother’s Day.  To be honest my ideal day involves a lie in and not having to cook, but it’s nice to have nice things and relaxing experiences too.

What is it?

It’s a clever little bath toy that allows you to have your very own light show in your bath.  There are 5 different settings to vary the effects.  To fully understand how this works, you need to see it in action so I’ve recorded a video for you showing how I would use it for a mother’s day treat.

In Use

There 5 different light shows are really easy to choose simply by pressing the button to move between modes:

• Mode 1: rapid light changes in a set sequence (my 4 year old son loved this one)
• Mode 2: a slower version of mode 1
• Mode 3: Single colours one by one in sequence (this is my favourite for a relaxing bath)
• Mode 4: All the colours on all the time (also very relaxing)
• Mode 5: A randomly changing light display

To turn the show on you simply press the button once and to turn off you hold it down for 3 seconds.  It’s very easy to use even if your hands are wet.

I found the slower modes better than the faster modes to be honest because they seemed more calming and restful.

Suitability for a present

I think this is an ideal gift for a preschool or infant age child to choose for mum with some help from a parent or grandparent.  It’s something that will appeal to the child’s imagination and they’ll be excited by what it can do. A present that appeals to the buyer is always a winner.  What child wouldn’t enjoy seeing a night time light show in the bath?  My child certainly was interested in it and keen to see it in action.

Any Negatives

I had a few initial difficulties setting the Underwater Light Show up.  However, these were resolved very quickly and easily by Find Me A Gift and I have to say that the follow up customer service was really excellent and the issue was fully resolved.  It’s good to know you are dealing with a good company when you buy online.

Price

Normally the Underwater Light Show is available for £7.99, but currently it’s on sale for the bargain price of £4.99.  At either price, it’s well inside that pocket money range.

Overall

A really fun bath toy that can create a relaxing bath or a more lively disco style bath time for the children. So all round family fun and a lovely treat for mum on her special day.  We really enjoyed trying this out and it’s been a bit of a hit in this house.  So it’s a great Mother’s Day gift idea.
