I’ve been out in the garden quite a lot this week and inevitably there are a few pictures. I planted this rambling rose a few years back to improve our security at the back. The idea was pretty, but thorny. It’s really got into its own this year. Sadly the rose at the other end of the fence hasn’t done very well and is only just alive. This one has grown to fill the gap nearly now though.
Hardy geraniums or cranebills are one of my favourite flowers: so easy, so reliable and so pretty. I think I’ll have to get some seed for some different sorts again soon. Going back some years now I used to buy myself a new variety each year and I did have quite a collection at previous gardens, but just the two types here at the moment.
H had gone paintballing on Saturday with friends and then on Sunday he was wiped out. He was still a bit tired on Monday and he had a teacher training day off school, so we didn’t do much although I did insist we went out for a walk. I’ve been getting lots of pussy cat attention this week and here’s the lovely Bracken.
H is well used to doing a bit of modelling and he has all sorts of ideas about how we should feature items: here he’s showing off school shoes. I didn’t realise until later that we were photobombed by Bracken the cat.
I’ve been trying to improve my photography for a few years now and I’ve bought some props to help. Mel at Le Coin de Mel recommended these table tops (the backs are different colours) and the idea is that you can ring the changes with your shots and choose the right background for what you are featuring. I got two and drove across Birmingham to collect them to save on postage. I had my CaptureByLucy backdrop arrive too (a competition win) and I’ve got hold of some wallpaper samples. Now of course, I’m raring to go, but it’s typical that at the moment I don’t have anything suitable to photograph for the blog.
I went to visit my friend who lives on a farm one day this week. We went out for lunch and I usually go back there afterwards for the chat to continue. I’m always very envious of where she gets to live. Planning some nerf gun battles this summer for our boys as they are both only children.
