We all know we should take more care of our pelvic floor. It’s a problem that mostly affects women due the strains placed on the body during pregnancy and childbirth, but it affects both men and women, even if they haven’t had kids. It might be that you first notice it when you laugh or cough and you have a little leak, or maybe you just thought you might and you want to avoid that happening. I’ve tried during pelvic floor exercises when I am out and about, but I don’t find that I manage to keep it up for long. I might be good for a week or so, but I think to really make a long-term difference you need to build in some care for your pelvic floor into your week.
INNOVO® is a different way of taking care of your pelvic floor: it’s the only non-invasive, clinically proven pelvic floor restoration device. When I got it out of the box I was reminded of those electronic exercisers for your abdominal muscles. In some ways it is similar in that you wear the pads around your buttocks and upper thighs and plug in the cables. Really the only effort that is required is in setting up the equipment each time you use it, then you can sit back and relax.
INNOVO® includes instructions (full instructions and an easy guide); the garments which wrap around each leg; a lanyard to make carrying the controller around easy; cables and the controller. When you first get your INNOVO® you need to position the gel pads on your garment. This varies a little depending on your size, but it is very simple to do and the instructions are easy to follow. You only need to do that once, but you do need to remove and replace the top covers on the gel pads with each use because they are how the garment sticks to you and does its work. You need to get the garments to wrap around your buttocks and your upper thighs, so it’s probably best to wear some underwear that allows for this. I found this relatively easy to do the first time and you very quickly build up speed.

The first time I tried to use INNOVO® I got the garments on with minimal fuss, plugged everything in and nothing happened. This gave me a chance to try out the online support. I used the online support and was immediately given the answer to the problem. I hadn’t ensured that I’d fully pushed the cables in and once I’d done this, I was up and running. The only downside is that the support is available Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm, and I guess those hours may not be convenient for everyone. You can also book a free set up consultation if you think you might need a hand getting started. You can also ring up and talk to them if you prefer that to online chat.
You should start to notice results within 4 weeks and I certainly did: for me the whole area felt tighter and more secure. I was much less worried about the risk of accidents and it gave me more confidence. There are different programmes depending on whether you want to treat stress incontinence or urge incontinence problems and I liked the fact that you could focus your treatment based on your specific problem. You can also go for a mixed regime if you prefer or that suits your needs better. Depending on your treatment plan you use INNOVO® for 30 minutes a day between 3 and 6 days a week.
I liked that this is an external device and you can sit in front of the TV while you are using it. You can happily concentrate on something else knowing that the INNOVO® is doing the work for you.
Disclosure: This is a paid review. I was given the product and paid for my time, but my views and opinions are my own.

I try and do the pelvic floor exercises but most of the time I forget. Innovo seems so easy to use and you can use it whilst watching TV. It’s great that you noticed the difference in a short time. I definitely will look into Innovo as it’s important to take care of the pelvic floor.
What a brilliant device and sounds so easy too. I was so bad at doing my pelvic floors and I had two very large babies both over 9 pounds! x
Oh wow this sounds super useful – I know since having kids mine has been really affected and this looks like a good way to build it back up and good to hear you start to see results only after a few weeks
Laura x
I actually do my pelvic floor exercises at work, it’s something I always do when I’m bored! This sounds really useful if you forget though.
I never remember to do these exercises which is really bad! i have had 5 kids and think this is a problem that will affect me in the future
I do need to have some sort of routine to help me remember to exercise too. It’s so easy for it to be forgotten when life is so busy, but it’s really important too.
sounds like a great device – so good it can give more confidence and less worries about accidents! and glad to hear customer service is good
Oh, I like the sound of this. I remember doing an insane amount of pelvic floor exercises when I was pregnant, and have done them on and off for years now but I lose patience when doing them so this sounds like a fab device x
I am unable to use the Innovo garment anymore as I became allergic to the adhesive gel pads. I then bought the shorts but found they failed after only a few weeks. I am very disappointed as I know they were strengthening my pelvic floor. Has anyone any advice ?
