Our bank holiday weekend was pretty quiet here and we had some much-needed down time. H’s grandparents came over for the day on Sunday and we went out for lunch at the local Miller & Carter Steakhouse. The meal was lovely (as always) and then we went back to ours and had a game of Smite in the back garden. Grandad was the victor.
Monday was the calm before the storm: 4 days of back to back half term fun. We had friends come round for the day, but we popped out in the morning to go to a play session run by the council in a park. There were art activities, Jenga, hula hoops, bats and balls, so plenty to have fun with for an hour or so.
H was chuffed to bits by Wednesday. His cousins came around for the day and they had a lot of fun. H particularly wanted to have a water fight and trade Pokemon cards. Luckily, his cousins (forewarned) came armed and ready to go. I couldn’t believe they wanted to play outside and get wet as it wasn’t the warmest of days, but they had a whale of a time.
Thursday was a bit quieter as we went to visit my grandmother in Worcester and had lunch in a carvery before coming home. We were then supposed to be chilling out for the rest of the day, but as I got out of the car I noticed that there was a nail in the sidewall of one of the tyres. These were new tyres that had only gone on at Christmas and given our low mileage it wouldn’t have had much wear, so it was a bit annoying. Luckily we got a new one fairly cheaply (for a tyre) at a local tyre place. H came along and seemed fascinated by seeing the garage at work.
