It’s been quite a busy week, but I don’t feel I’ve got that many pictures from it. We went to the in-laws 50th wedding anniversary celebrations, but I mostly put my camera away. Partly that was because there was a designated photographer and partly because my camera battery was flat and I hadn’t got the spare. The ones from my phone aren’t really worth sharing. It was nice to see the family all together and meet some of Mr Nine to Three Thirty’s more distant relatives. H had been doing his family tree at school the previous week, so it was good to be able to put faces to some of the names for him and gave him a chance to thank some of them for their help in person. Monday was Carol Service day for H. In fact, it was the start of a week of fun with special school dinners every day. There was a Christmas party day, Christmas jumper day, a pantomime and a school disco. Lots going on.
Tuesday was the day I took the car into the garage for repairs. They very kindly ran me up to nearby Merry Hill where I caught up with some Christmas shopping. I’m not a big shopper though so after a few hours I’d had enough and walked back to the dealership. They were having problems removing one of the parts they needed to replace and were having to soak it in some special stuff. It had been supposed to be a couple of hours work, but I ended up having to borrow a courtesy car to get home in time to do the school run. Then I had to go back the next day to take it back and pick up my own. I have to say that the dealership were great with offering lifts, hot drinks and a courtesy car, but I would have preferred to have had the time at home to get on with jobs. All sorted now though and I do feel more confident driving the car again. I’d got a bit unsure about it due to the problems we were having with it.We did have a meal out mid week at the local Toby Carvery. It’s always nice not to have to cook especially in a busy last week of term before Christmas. Thursday and Friday saw me trying to catch up on my errands, which I mostly did. I’m still waiting on a parcel or two and I need to do the wrapping. Otherwise I think we are ready for Christmas.
