So last weekend H was at his Dad’s and I had a lovely night out with old friends that I hadn’t seen for ages. This collage that H had created for his art class was around the house to remind me of his existence though. Scary stuff isn’t it? It’s a mixture of his and my faces. To my mind it has a sort of Frankenstein, nightmarish quality to it.
Possibly even scarier is the drawing he made based on it. At least he seems to be enjoying art and he is doing a lot more of it than he did at primary (I think that’s really sad actually as it should really be the other way around, but SATs and things seem to get in the way).
Early in the week there were a couple of early morning walks to the swimming pool – I go three or four times a week at the moment. It will be nice when I can do the walk in the light, but at least I get to see the sunrise at the moment.
Aside from the swimming, I do yoga and I try to go for a walk with a friend in the countryside once a week. This week was a strange one as all the roads were clear and there was no snow lower down, but the car park for the hills was slippy and this was the view at the top. I was walking on an inch or two of snow, but the scenery all around was green.
It has been quite a social week for me and I enjoyed finishing it off with a trip to see a live band. The band I went to see are a tribute band for both Simple Minds and U2. They performed the first set as Simple Minds and at the break the lead singer and the bass player swapped over, Jim Kerr swapping with Bono. It was quite fun and they were polished performers. It was a lot cheaper than seeing the real thing too.
