I think if I was to pick out a theme for the week it would be buses and waiting for them mostly. Saturday got off to a bad start on the transport front with the bus driver announcing he was turning around because of the traffic and we would have to get on the bus behind. Later there was half an hour to wait for a bus on a busy route with one driver going past our stop without stopping even though he wasn’t that full.
Last weekend was a busy weekend for us with a trip to the theatre to see Alice in Wonderland at The Old Rep in Birmingham, which meant we were able to catch up some blogger friends too.
We also fitted in a trip to the Magical Lantern Festival in Kings Heath Park, Birmingham. Here’s H with his cousin that we went with.
Monday was our termly lunch for my German class and we went along after the class. It’s lovely that it’s a social class and a couple of formal members came along too. Tuesday involved a trip to the dealership as my car had been recalled (again) for an air bag problem. I’m amazed that I am still getting recall notices on a 14-year-old car. The dealership is very accommodating and gave me a lift to nearby Merry Hill Shopping Centre, so I could do a bit of shopping. I have a low tolerance for shopping though and can’t manage more than about an hour before I’ve had a enough. I had a clear idea of what I wanted and managed to get it.
Friday I decided to go to my yoga class by bus partly because of the snow and partly because I needed to buy a day pass for later anyway, so it made sense. The snow seemed to cause chaos for bus services though and the usually reliable app from the bus company seemed to have lots of disappearing buses. I waited half an hour for a bus into town which is unheard of really on a major route into the city centre. Once there though I had a good time at a friend’s 60th birthday celebration.
