Last weekend and most of this week we tried to take it easy because H was still recovering from a very low-level, but fairly persistent bug. He’s spent a lot of time rereading Harry Potter, in fact I think he’s dipped into all 7 books this week.
On Friday he dressed up as Harry Potter for a Super Hero day at school. This outfit was cobbled together from a vampire costume cape, some Where’s Wally glasses and his magic set wand. I think it was pretty effective: everyone knew who he was supposed to be.
H has been helping me out with various photos for Christmas gift guide posts and the like. This involves getting into the Christmas mood a little bit early, but he’s quite up for doing it most of the time. Sometimes there’s a toy involved which makes it a much more attractive prospect than when there isn’t. I do foresee a time when I might need to find a way to persuade him to help: I know a few bloggers pay their children to take part in the blog and we might need to go down that route at some point.
This week H had his school assembly which was all about Black History Week and he took part in a play within it and did some narration too. I love going in to watch him do it and he did so well.
