Last weekend my brother was up visiting and he brought his girlfriend along to meet us all. It was an excuse for the whole family to get together. We went out for a meal at a country pub, went for a walk over the hills and did a little den building on the side.
Monday was the last day of the holidays, but it was a bit of a washout and we had a quiet day rather than a big day out like we’d originally planned. Maybe it was just as well as we’d had a busy weekend and of course it would be a full on week at school to come.
H has really stepped up a gear at school. It suddenly seems to have got very serious in Year 5. There’s more homework and more is expected of him. So far though he’s enthusiastic and I’m hoping that lasts for a while. This week we have been back to our after school activities and we are starting to think again about attending open days to find out about prospective secondary schools. It all seems a bit scary. I’ve made some progress on my to do list, which is the plus side of H being back at school and he’s enjoying catching up with his friends.
