A fairly busy week for us. Last weekend saw us visiting friends in Oxford. H loves going there: he gets to play with slightly older children; they have a wonderful big garden; and there’s usually a nerf gun battle. The boys all went off on Sunday morning to go boating in Oxford, while I stayed behind to read and chill back at the house. H managed to burn himself on the campfire cooking, but that didn’t seem to mar his enjoyment of the weekend and he was very brave about it all.
Monday we went to Saltmills, a localish nature reserve, which was enormous especially considering how close it is to the huge Merry Hill shopping centre. Tuesday was a day mostly at home, but we did a few errands. Wednesday was another dose of fun and we went to the Thinktank museum in Birmingham to go to a blogging event and later the same day we went to a Recordbreakers event at the local library. A busy day!
On Thursday we went to Stafford Castle with ClearlyBex. The castle is quite ruined, but the grounds are lovely and we certainly had some fun there. On Thursday evening I was chuffed to find myself on the top 100 list of most influential tweeters in the Midlands.
Friday saw us visiting my grandmother in her new pad – she has had to move out of her residential home because it is being demolished. She’s in a brand new fancy one now, but I’m not convinced she’s settled yet. They don’t seem to have moved her with the residents she’s used to or with the same carers which was supposed to happen, so it’s all new which is tough when you are month shy of 95. Hopefully, it was just a bad day when we went and it will get better from there.
