So the summer holidays are here at last. H’s school kept them there till 3.30 on Friday, but spent much of the last week watching films. Seemed kind of pointless really – I’d have rather he had an extra week’s holiday. Once he’d escaped he helped me out over the weekend with some product testing and photo shoots so I could catch up with my work. Here he is trying out the Mysteries in Time subscription box.
We had a go at creating our own Stick Man Games and had a lot of fun.
On Monday we had a big treat in store. We went to Warwick Castle for a 2 day visit and stayed overnight in their new Knight’s Village Lodges. We’ve been to Warwick Castle lots of times before as it is an easy day trip for us, but it was great to be there overnight.
We got to see all our favourite things including the fabulous jousting show and tried out some new bits like the Horrible Histories Maze. In the evening there was more entertainment in store and H enjoyed some knightly fun.
Then a quiet day or so while I got the house ready for the arrival of my sister and her family. Her boys are staying with us and I needed to get the house free of cat fur as the boys are allergic to cats – easily said than done when you have 2 cats that seem to be constantly shedding fur. H was super-excited to see his cousins again after 5 years apart. He was watching for their taxi out the window for about half an hour before they arrived. It’s been wonderful to catch up with them all and finally meet my niece who is nearly 5 years old. Writing this has made me realise that I haven’t taken any pictures of the family since they arrived and that’s fine because we have just been enjoying our time together. That said, I think I’ll be making the effort to take some over the next few days.
