The week got off to a good start when I got sent a reward for taking part in a campaign. It was unexpected so it was a nice surprise and a bit of a treat.
Sunday lunch is a bit of family tradition. Here’s Dad about to tuck into his. Mum and Dad used to host every week, but now we share it around. It does provide a good opportunity to see each other regularly and catch up.
This week turned out to be a busy and very social week. I went out for breakfast one day and lunch another two days. I’ll have to have quieter (and cheaper) week next week. This picture is of our dessert sundaes. I’m not a big fan of cream so I asked for mine to come without – I don’t mind a little bit, but I’d just be spooning it off and wasting it, so there’s no point. We got a good deal on this meal as my friend had a 40% off voucher for the main meals. That’s one thing about January, there are quite a few deals to be had, in fact my friend had a whole selection of discounts we could have chosen from for a number of different chains.
A little while ago I had to fill in a questionnaire for some vitamins I was getting to review. One of the questions was how often do you eat avocados and the options were once a week and upwards. I had to put down that I didn’t eat them (as I only did occasionally and not as regularly as once a week), but it got me thinking and researching them. Since then I’ve been eating them most weeks, so it’s probably no longer a truthful answer. This dish was a breakfast/lunch dish I had at a local cafe, The Old Dresser, it’s homemade sourdough bread, with avocados and poached eggs. It was really tasty.
