H had a birthday party to go to on Saturday. It’s quite unusual now he’s older to have a birthday party to go to. This one was at an aqua park: a sort of on water assault course or playground in a reservoir. I left him there and went over the road to what is the biggest garden centre for many miles around. I had a wander round their gardens and spotted this combination that I might try in my garden somewhere. After a couple of hours of reading my book in the gardens; wandering around the garden centre shop; and checking out the farmer’s market outside, I went back to collect H. He had had a great time, but the car smelt of pond water when he got in it.
Whilst we are on the garden theme, I spotted these lovely roses when I was out and about this week. I love roses, but only have a rambling rose at the bottom of my garden. It looks lovely when it’s in flower and I hope it acts as a bit of a security measure, but the flowers aren’t really accessible for scent. I think I will have to get myself a rose or two for my flower garden as it seems daft to have a garden without my favourite flowers.
I’ve had a busy run of bar/restaurant openings, new menu launches and restaurant reviews. There are more lined up for the coming weeks too. This week I went to a launch party for something called Flight Club. It’s a way of playing darts in a social way. It reminded me a bit of bowling: you have a little area for your party. All the scoring is done for you and the screen tells you who is up next. We played a lot of different games like Snakes and Ladders with the dart board zones acting as a dice throw. It was a lot of fun and I can easily see myself going back there, especially as I think I’m better at darts than bowling (I do have a dart board at home too, I might even buy some darts for it and use it).
Those flowers do look lovely! Strangely, my daughter has had loads of birthday parties lately – including several at an aqua park! Luckily the birthday girl’s parents always take them because it’s quite a long way away.

Gorgeous roses. Love the idea of that dart place. Something different and it’s always nice to do a group thing
glad he enjoyed the party, water play a good idea in the temperatures we have been getting.
The game of darts sounds like fun.
Love the flowers x looks like you all had a great party x
The darts parts sounds like fun, I haven’t played that game for a zillion years! Glad H enjoyed the water party even with the pond smell afterwards #365
The pond smell doesn’t sound nice! But glad he had fun!
Those roses are beautiful!

I love summer I think it brings out the best in people! But this just reminds me how quickly the year is going!
I’ve never heard of a darts board being played like that #365
The flowers have such rich and beautiful colours!! That looks like a cool restaurant that allows you to play a proper game of darts.
The games night sounds fun and something I’d like to take part in. Our kids all started having parties to attend when they were about 13, usually activities like H attended or discos
Those flowers are lovely. The games night sounds so much fun. I am sure we will have a few of those types of parties coming up xx
I like the idea of the darts games. I am not great with the rules and to have something do to the adding up too! Sounds like you have a lot of exciting things to look forward to.
