Last weekend was a fairly quiet weekend at home catching up on some home and garden things. The vegetable patch is really coming along now and we are more up to date with it than any other year. Before living here we had an allotment, but now we just have a veg patch at the bottom of the garden. It’s much more manageable partly because it’s smaller, but mostly because it is close at hand. We are growing fruit, garlic, brassicas, legumes plus tomatoes, cucumbers and more in the greenhouse.
This week has been a back to school, hit the to do list sort of week. I finally got around to arranging for H to try cubs. That seemed to go very well and he enjoyed spending time with his friend who goes too. H has had a busy week as he had a day out with the school at a local reservoir doing outdoor activities. He enjoyed going canoeing.
One evening after school H and I went to the vets to take the cats for their booster injections. I could take them during the school day, but H likes to come along to help. All was well for their checkup and we didn’t have to hang around for too long. The next day though the cats slept virtually without a break – they seem to do this regularly after injections, so I wasn’t worried.
Sadly no daytime naps for me as I was busy trying to catch up with work and housework/errands after doing a lot less of those things during half term. At the end of the week the to do list looks as big as ever, but I did get a lot done.
Your cats look so cosey there, I feel like I could have done with a week like that. It was a hit the to do list kind of week for me too. I did get lots done though!
Wow, your vegetable garden looks fab! H is looking very tall these days! Glad he enjoyed Cubs, my boys have had so much enjoyment from Cubs and Scouts over the years. That’s a lovely photo of the cats sleeping.

I haven’t got the patience for a vegetable patch sadly. Glad H enjoyed canoeing, need to get mine involved with that too
Oh, your veg patch looks lovely! I want to come over and get my hands dirty in there 🙂
Wow that vegetable patch looks very impressive! Hope H enjoys cubs, my daughter is loving brownies. Isn’t it nice that H wants to help out, both with the cats and with the garden? 🙂

Ooh I’d love to have room to grow my own veggies, I remember loving doing that as a child, tomatoes from the green house, potatoes, lettuce, carrots and more from the garden. I am sure my kids would eat more greens if they actually grew them! x
What beautiful kitties you have, their fur looks so soft! Wish we could have a vegetable garden, yours looks amazing!
Wow what a week! I would love to grow my own veg but I struggle to keep a house plant alive! Glad the cats are ok. They are beautiful xx
it is nice to spend time with the children on their week off, much better than working. The too do list will never be clear no matter what. Canoeing sounds fun, my girls use to enjoy that. Hope he enjoys the cubs – Bob does.
Wow, your garden looks amazing! Love the cats sleeping together! So cute!
your small veg patch is very neat and tidy and actually looks bigger than i would have imagined an allotment would be
Your veg patch looks great! Can’t have one at mine (privately renting) but I’ve got my own little patch at my parents house 🙂

That is a super looking veggie plot, I would love that at the bottom of my garden. We have an allotment and it can be hard to get there sometimes. One day!

It makes such a difference growing veggies rght outside the door. We can have a plot of land where we live here but as it is a short walk away I just never get round to it! Mich x
The veg patch is looking good. We used to have an allotment it encouraged our boys to try the veg they helped to grow.
Your cats are gorgeous, love the way they cwtch up together.
