Last Saturday was the first day of the half term holiday and we headed off to Merry Hill fairly early. I’d booked H in for his first ever driving lesson – this was a treat from Christmas, but I’d only just got around to booking him in. He was a bit reluctant to go, but I didn’t give him much choice and he ended up really enjoying it. I think it was a bit of an eye-opener for him and he said he hadn’t realised there was so much to driving. They got him to drive a proper car (a Vauxhall Corsa) and he could only just see over the wheel, but he is keen to try again. We will be going back I think before too long.
I got sent a lot of Piccolo tomatoes this week. As well as eating lots of them, I used a few to play around with my photography flat lays. They were really tasty and flavorsome.
I also took some pictures of the Hotter Shoes sandals that I got sent to review after the Blogon Conference. They are very comfy.
H was a bit put out that I went to visit a pizza place this week without hi. I went to do a review, but it seemed a more adult trip than family as it involved doing some cider tasting. I was surprised by the variety of the ciders and I really liked the still and drier varieties. To be fair though I did take him out to dinner earlier in the week though, but it proved a bit disastrous. We went to 3 Chinese restaurants that were closed that were supposed to be open according to their websites. Then we went somewhere else and the rudeness of the door staff meant that we didn’t make it over the threshold. I did complain and they are supposed to be sending me something, so we shall see if they can redeem themselves. In the end we went to Ask, so he did get his pizza. The service there was great and made up for the other places being so bad.
