Last Saturday I was at BlogOn. This picture was one that I took when we went out to explore the museum during the photography session. BlogOn was held in the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. There’s lots to see and explore there, plus I loved that it was free because our equivalent in Birmingham is quite expensive. Getting home was always going to be a little difficult as there were engineering works going on and there was a bus replacement service on a fairly long stretch of my route home. When I got to Piccadilly station though, I asked about trains and was directed onto a train heading towards Cleethorpes. I changed at Sheffield and got home before H went to bed, which was a bit of a result. A very strange route to travel from Manchester to Birmingham, but I got to look out the window at the Pennines for a while, so it was quite scenic.
After a relaxing Sunday at home, we were busy again on Monday. We’d arranged for H to have cycling lesson with a specialist instructor. She said she could have him riding a bike from scratch within 2 hours and so she did. If you are struggling with teaching your child to ride a bike, I’d really recommend doing it and I’ve written more about it here.
I’ve been out taking some pictures of the spring flowers before they disappear for another year. It’s been a busy week and we are leading up to a busy weekend with H’s first holy communion today. Buying a new school shirt for the occasion proved more difficult than it should have been – school uniform stock levels seem to be particularly low this time of year. I think we are all set for the big day now though.
