Last weekend was a bank holiday, so it was nice to have some extra family time. We had a busy day Saturday with some kitchen showroom visiting. Since we moved house 2.5 years ago, we have been desperate to change our kitchen. It’s a big job though and obviously that costs, so we have been saving up. We are going to knock a wall down and move things around a little. I am alternatively looking forward to it and dreading it.
The weather was nice so we got out in the garden quite a bit over the weekend and H enjoyed a game of cricket with his Dad. On Monday H had a Laser Quest type party. Sadly, he insisted on me going in to play too because it was a bit dark. So I ended up running around like a mad thing to escape a gang of 7-year-old boys that thought it was great fun to shoot the adult.
H went back to work on Tuesday, but my husband had the week off. It always seems strange when he’s off and H isn’t. The reason for the week off was that it was our 10th wedding anniversary this week. We went out for lunch at a sushi restaurant because we didn’t have a babysitter available for the evening. As well as our meal we managed a drink or two in the pub. We don’t often get to do that sort of thing, so it made a nice change.
I spent a fair bit of the week preparing for our local NCT sale which I help out with. I was also selling some clothes, toys and other bits that H is now too grown up for. H rediscovered an old toy and has been using these play mat pieces to build lots of constructions. Many have been intended as cat palaces or dens, but for some reason the cats haven’t fathomed that these buildings are for them. In fact, they haven’t seemed too keen on them at all.
