After all the rain at the end of the Easter holidays, it was a relief to get some better weather and I spent quite a bit of the weekend gardening. I planted loads of seeds in the greenhouse and dug some of the vegetable beds. Lots more needs doing, but I’ve made a start.
H is sporting quite a bed head most mornings this week. He favours a shaggy hairstyle look, but it’s gone a bit over the top this week.
The sun eventually arrived and I finally got to try these sandals that I’d been sent to review. It felt great to finally get to feel the sun on my skin. My yoga class got cancelled this week and I felt the need to do some other form of exercise as I’ve now not been to yoga for a month (not my fault as the classes weren’t running). Swimming seems a lot less hassle in the summer when you don’t have to put on numerous layers after your swim and wrestle with socks and things. I was a bit shocked how out of breath I was. I’m quite a fast swimmer so that may not help, but I had to take lots of breaks.Time to do some aerobic exercise I think as well as my yoga and lots of walking.
A review meal with a cocktail at The Botanist in Birmingham was a bit of a highlight this week. It was the perfect day for an evening drink and I love how the pub is so open at the front – it felt like the perfect place to be at the end of a hot day.
Next door’s magnolia is in full bloom at the moment and looks fantastic. I miss my old magnolia tree that we had at our previous house. I don’t really have a spot to plant one at this house, despite the much bigger garden, so I’m glad I can enjoy next door’s instead.
