Last weekend was mostly spent at or doing things for the home. We spent some time starting to clear out a room for guests from Germany that are coming to visit soon. Cue a trip to Ikea to buy some more storage (bookcase and CD rack – you can just see the rack in the bottom photo) and we finally managed to unpack some boxes from our move nearly a year ago. It also freed up some more storage space downstairs which is useful.
H went to mini rugby again with his friend on Sunday morning. He seemed to enjoy himself at the time and straight afterwards, but is now saying he doesn’t want to go this weekend. This happened with Boys Brigade too and I’m not sure what to make of it. I’m taking him this weekend so I guess I’ll get to see him in action at least.
I know many of you like the photos I take walking through the park on the way to or from school. It’s often the most obvious time to take pictures of H and it’s great to see him running around and playing in the open air. He can be a bit of an indoor boy given half a chance, but walking to school through the park guarantees some outdoor fun each weekday. H enjoys being outside when he gets there, but often resists going out in the first place.
The park is a beautiful place too with some wonderful mature trees, open vistas and secret hideaways. Here’s a picture of my favourite tree that has featured on 92three30 many times.
We’ve had quite a quiet week this week. After school activities have been minimal with only our usual swimming and a playdate with H’s best friend (we alternate this between our houses every other week). So we’ve been catching up on some toy testing with a few reviews already up on nine to three thirty and a few more to come this week.
On the blogging front, it was nice to find out that 92three30 is the featured site of the month on Hostpapa‘s site (they provide the hosting for this site). They host a lot of sites worldwide, so it’s feels good to be picked out from so many. I’m also writing some guest posts for SusanKMann at the moment and here’s the first of three book reviews.
I think H’s most exciting moment of the week was ordering some Lego Hero Factory online with his pocket money. It was a tough decision for him: Should he go to the shop and get something to bring home that day? This would have meant settling for one of the figures futher down his wish list. Or should he order online and get what he wanted, but he’d need to wait a few days for it? He opted for getting exactly what he wanted and waiting, but he’s desperate for them to arrive. Apparently, they have been dispatched, so look out for some pictures next week.
What have you been up to this week?
