The Longhorn in Walsall is one of the Ember Inns chain and it has recently recently reopened following a major refurbishment, so we were invited along to try out the food. As you can see it’s an attractive pub. It has a good location and whilst it’s on a fairly busy road we didn’t have any problems turning in or out, plus the car park seemed generous. We arrived mid afternoon for a late lunch and found a cosy corner to sit in and take in the new decor.
There was a choice of table types and seating arrangements to choose from and we settled for a spot close to one of the big fires that made the place seem very welcoming. There’s plenty to choose from on the menu and you are certainly spoilt for choice. We had been talking about what we wanted to eat on the way over and we both fancied a steak. Sadly there weren’t any steaks available (although they are on the menu) and the staff were very apologetic about this. They were very friendly, helpful and attentive through the ordering and serving of our meal. As there was so much choice it was easy enough to find alternative meals though.
