It’s been a really bad tail end of the year for me and mine. There has been added stress with my son starting secondary school and all of us have had to adapt to a new routine. Then things really went downhill with a family bereavement, as well as the death of a much-loved pet. I’ll be glad to see the back of the current year as a result of all this upset and disruption, but it really pays to have something to look forward to in the new year. One idea I had was a break away from responsibilities and every day life. For me this means a couples-only break rather than a family trip. Going away early in the year gives you something to look forward to. The year, we had a trip to the Caribbean arranged for January, made the post-Christmas back to work so much easier to cope with.
To make the most of any trip, it’s important to get there fast and comfortably so travelling in style with speed with Vistajet is on my radar. For me travel can be part of the adventure and it’s so much better when it’s pleasant. I really do fancy somewhere a bit exotic, but I probably won’t have much time to spend away, so I want to keep my journey time to a minimum. I’ve been looking at some destinations that have much better weather than we do in the UK, at this time of year. A city break somewhere maybe with guaranteed sun, maybe somewhere with good shopping and plenty to do like Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi. The heat is guaranteed and the journey time is manageable too.
I do have a hankering to travel a bit further though and part of me would love to go to the Far East. It’s difficult to choose between Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. Each city has its own special features and cultural highlights. I’m torn between the night zoo in Singapore and the cherry blossom in Japan come the spring.
