Whenever we go away somewhere, I seem to come back with a few new potential #satcap (Saturday is Caption Day) pictures. This week I bring you the wine bottle car. I snapped this unusual vehicle outside the Freixenet winery which isn’t far from Barcelona. It’s a stylish looking creation, but can you caption it?
We had the most wonderful trip to Barcelona with Freixenet that I was lucky enough to win in a competition. They organised the whole trip for us including flights from our local airport, transfers (we were met by someone with our name on a card at the airport) and a lovely hotel. The highlight of our trip though was a day at the Freixenet Winery, with a dedicated guide just for the two of us. It was a truly special experience and one that I will remember forever. We had a tour of the whole production facilities and got to find out a lot about how different types of wine are made and about the Freixenet brand. Over lunch in the board room dining room we got to appreciate some original modern art, whilst we were served a bespoke meal with carefully chosen complementary wines. It was a really culinary treat and we learnt a lot about wines. I just thought Freixenet made Cava and that is a big part of what they are about, but there are plenty more wines within their portfolio.
Anyone can have a tour of the winery and I would recommend it as it’s a really educational experience. Obviously you should expect to be part of a larger group and I don’t suppose lunch and drinks will be provided. The winery is situated a little way out of Barcelona so it was good for us to experience a little of the Spanish countryside, rather than simply a big city.
