Last week I struggled to take many pictures, so this week I’ve been determined to take some more. I’ve taken some for work, but I haven’t got around to doing the work. I think I’m still struggling to get back into the routine and Christmas was the first break I’d had from work for more than a day or two all year and I think I really needed it.
At the weekend I took H over to the local park to meet up with a friend and her boy. The boys went off together while we did several circuits of the park while we caught up on news. In the end we’d done over 10,000 steps which wasn’t bad.
Monday was H’s first day back at school after Christmas. He really didn’t want to go. Predictably the first day involved a pink write. When I was at school we would write about what we had done in the holidays, but these days it’s all much more structured and I’m not sure it’s always a good thing. This pink write was an autobiography and it was interested to hear what H thought it was a good idea to include in his.
Back to school meant back to my activities too. Monday was German and Friday was yoga. For once I’d done some yoga over most of the Christmas holidays, although it was only a pose or two a day. The big highlight of my yoga session was finding a way that worked for me to do a head stand – I’ve been struggling lately because of a cyst on my head in just the wrong place. There’s something good about being upside down in a yoga pose, so I’m hoping I can do more head stands in the coming weeks.
I went outside to take some shots. It’s all too easy to think there is nothing to photograph outside in the winter unless there’s snow and ice, but there is beauty even in decay.
