H has been a mad keen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan ever since discovering them on YouTube last year. So being sent the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ninja Control Shell Raiser to review was very exciting indeed. In fact, it arrived one morning before we were going out and I had to hide it because I knew I would never get him out otherwise.
The Shell Raiser is a bit too enthusiastically packaged. It took me about five minutes to get it out of the packaging and I even wondered at one point if I would manage it at all. You need 5 AA batteries too so make sure you are stocked up. Use a cross head screwdriver to open the battery compartments on both the vehicle itself and the remote control unit. Once this is done you are good to go.
Now the Ninja Control Shell Raiser has some very cool features: full function radio control steering and remote firing sewer cover cannon. The full function radio control steering can take your vehicle forward and back as well as side to side. It’s responsive and works well. What a cool feature the remote firing sewer cover cannon is. There are 10 sewer cap or manhole cover disks to fire and ours have been fired all over the house at various victims including some of H’s existing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toys.
You can have your turtles travel inside the vehicle, stand or hold on at the back (if you flip the door open). As the vehicle is compatible with other toys we were able to have turtles standing on the pegs on the roof of the shell raiser too. If we are nitpicking for improvements or looking to suggest improvements, H would have liked to see the remote control being shaped like the turtle com.
This is a very cool toy: both H and his dad have enjoyed playing with it.
