You may have noticed that I haven’t been blogging as much over the last week or two. I’ve less time because it’s the school holidays and also we have been so busy that I have had so little time to write about what we’ve done. Add to that some dodgy internet connections and you have a blogging break.
After getting back from our trip to Brittany with Al Fresco Holidays, we had the usual getting back to normal after a holiday jobs to do like unpacking, washing and shopping. After a day or two we were busy doing other things again like our day trying out Skyside at Birmingham Airport. This is aimed at children travelling through the airport and is a really fun way of keeping them entertained. Needless to say, H is now asking to go back, but that could be an expensive trip as you need to go through security at the airport to do it.
At the airport H met a new friend in Mr K. You may have encountered him on ET Speaks From Home. Better still they got to meet up again the very next day at Hatton Country World (where this photo was taken). This isn’t the greatest photo ever, but it does show 2 young boys having fun together.
The very next day H and I set out on a road trip to Wales. It was a mother and son trip and it’s been a while since we did one of those together. We enjoyed our journey and then set out to explore the next day. We had a glorious day in Porthmadog and Borth-y-Gest. H made friends on the beach that first day and had a whale of a time. He climbed rocks, he made sand castles, he paddled in the sea. The weather was beautiful and I had a lovely long read on the beach.
We also got to meet up with Really Missing Sleep and her boys. They’d met before when we went to Warwick Castle to see Mike the Knight and the boys had hit it off from the start. Much fun was had on the beach, playing Skylanders, going swimming and much, much more.
We also got to do a little exploring. H visited his first castle of the week: Harlech. If you’ve ever been there you can’t forget the panoramic views nor the way the castle dominates the landscape for miles around. Here’s H pretending to be an archer attacking the castle.
Anyway, we are back at home now and catching up. Lots of blog posts to come over the next week or so.
