After two years with non speaking roles: sheep and an angel, this year he got ‘his first big break’, he was one of the innkeepers with nine words to say. He stood up on stage very nicely and said them loudly and clearly. I was very proud. He also resisted my father’s attempts to make him say ‘ come on in there’s plenty of room’ – sigh!
I’m also a little sad that we have had our last nativity play. He still seems so little and they do enjoy practising for the play. I dare say the carol concert will benefit from his enthusiasm next year: this year H has been manically practising the songs for the play around the house each evening. This year the play was very simple and didn’t try to incorporate any extra side plots. In previous years we have had narrating snowman and a strange jigsaw piece hunt. It seemed more fitting for our last nativity play.
