Over the years we have had a fair few collars for our cats. They are designed to come off if they get stuck in a bush or something, so they get lost from time to time. We have experimented with collars of various sorts over the years and had settled on some that we liked that were sold at Sainsburys. Sadly though they stopped selling them a few years ago, but up until recently Bracken was still wearing this purple one from there. It had got very worn though and was so stretched it was coming off all the time, so we have been looking for a new one. Purple seems to suit Bracken very nicely, whilst for Amber we like red.
Red collars seem to be easier to find than purple ones. The only purple one available at our local pet shop was a glittery, poor quality one. I’d put off buying for a while in the hope of finding something suitable, but it was no good. I had a bit of a think about what colour would suit instead of purple and hit upon dark blue. Picture me in the shop searching for a pack of catfood with a grey cat on, so I could try the blue collar against it.
I settled on this blue and white spotted collar with a flower and bell (Why do they all have bells? I always end up taking them off. Does anyone leave them on?). H loved putting Bracken’s new collar on for her. Bracken was less than impressed. I wasn’t sure of her view on the flower, but it was clear she wasn’t keen on the bell. H would have liked to keep it, but it quickly started annoying us all, so that came off. For now though her flower remains. It’s sewn on and should be fairly easy to remove. Bracken is hardly going out at this time of year, so it hasn’t got dirty or tatty yet, so I’ve left it on for now. What do you think? Should the flower stay or should it go?
