Mr 92three30 hasn’t been feeling well for a couple of weeks which has meant that there has been a lot more Mummy time at the weekends than normal. The housework may suffer, but we have a lot of fun. Saturday was an action packed day at home. We started off making World Cup flags for our project with Ducktape. It was a lot of fun and we learned a bit about the countries of our group (group H) too.
Moving on from that H transformed into a super hero: Heroic H for our #playthehero project that we’ve been working on with Phillips. The postman came and brought great joy to our house when he delivered the Minecraft toys that H has really been looking forward to playing with. One of the lovely things about blogging is that we get to do so many interesting things. Sometimes that means going to interesting places, but other times we get to have our fun at home. The weekend could have been a washout because of the weather, but with all our activities, it proved a lot of fun instead.
After a day indoors, H was up for a bit more physical activity and Sunday was the day of the long awaited karate party. One of H’s friends is a member of a karate club that offers birthday parties and he decided to have a karate party to celebrate his seventh birthday. The children loved it. They got to run around, jump, kick, punch and fight, but all in a safe and controlled environment. Here’s H having a duel with one of the little girls from the party. He was also very chuffed at being able to punch a board in two with his boxing gloves on. It was a busy couple of hours which wore the children out nicely.
Another highlight of the week for H was getting to ride in a beach buggy. We went to our swimming class and because it was nice weather, the dad of H’s swimming buddy had come along in his beach buggy. H had never seen anything like it and loved the fact that you had to clamber in. He liked there are no doors and no roof, which makes it really cool when you are driving along. The car park at the school where they go swimming was quite quiet, so H got driven on a circuit. He was thrilled.
