It’s been a busy sort of week, but a happy week. We haven’t been out that much or had much in the way of social events, but it’s been a week to get things done. Yes, there has been the usual Christmas things to do. I’ve been busy Christmas card delivering and present wrapping, not to mention trying to collect parcels from neighbours and the sorting office, as well as the ones that came when I was in. At the weekend we got some jobs done for our cruise holiday that we are going on in January. Mr 92three30 had tried on his dinner jacket which he hadn’t worn for 10 years (proved by date on bus ticket in the pocket) and was pleasantly surprised to find it was too big for him. So we went on a family trip to the dry cleaners to arrange for it to be altered. Here’s H with an Astrosaurs book patiently waiting for Daddy to finish.
H has had a big grin on his face quite a lot of the time for various reasons this week. This picture that I was trying to take for a post I plan to write soon, was supposed to be a proud one of H holding his latest swimming certificate. Instead, it’s of a very happy boy having lots of fun and I think I like it better than the pic I eventually got of the ‘proud moment’. He’s been happy this week for a couple of reasons:
- Christmas is coming up quickly now.
- School holidays are approaching.
- Lots of fun at school with Christmas parties and Christmas lunches.
- An enormous quantity of toys to review before Christmas.
I’ve been surprised by how many toys we have been sent to review this week. We’d accepted some of the offers of review samples earlier in the month, but they all seemed to come at once and of course, everyone wants their review done by Christmas. H has risen to the challenge (it’s a hard life isn’t it?) and put the toys through their paces. He’s also cooperating in having his picture taken; provided his opinions and generally been a real help. I hope Christmas isn’t a disappointment, as he’s had as many toys arrive this week to review as he’s likely to get on Christmas day itself. The difference will be though, that most of what he’ll be getting for Christmas are the toys he’s had his eye on for ages and that he’s spent ages researching in his toy bibles: Smyths Toys catalogue, YouTube for reviews and Amazon. Will he finally be getting Skylanders Swapforce? Tune in next week to find out.
