We’ve teamed up with Sun-Pat while they run their Fuel Your Dreams promotion. What are your dreams? I have a few and they involve being up in the air. When I was about 21 I fulfilled one dream which was doing a parachute jump – it was an amazing experience and one that I’ll never forget. The view from air was amazing as I floated back down to earth. I had almost no nerves at the time about doing it (maybe that’s the advantage of doing it young), but I’m not sure I’d be quite so blasé about it now.
I have a couple of other aviation related ambitions too. My six times great-grandfather built his own hot air balloon and became the first person in the UK to fly a hot air balloon. I’d like to follow in his footsteps. Another related dream is to learn how to fly a plane. Our recent trip to the Isles of Scilly got us up close to the cockpit, but I’d like to go a step further and sit in the pilot’s seat.
All that dreaming is hungry work and in any case to fly in a hot air balloon or pilot an aircraft you need a reasonable level of fitness and a fairly healthy bank balance. So I’ll need to keep plugging away at the day job to earn the pennies to make my dreams a reality, especially as I’d like H to share them with me.
To keep me going through the day, I like to eat well and something with a good combination of carbs and protein is best to keep me fuelled. On days where time is tight I like nothing better than a slice of toast, spread liberally with Sun-Pat peanut butter, made from my homemade bread. The bread is super easy to make as there are only four ingredients and I just shove it in the breadmaker using the basic white loaf setting on my machine. You need 12 fl oz water, 1lb 2oz of white bread flour, a teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of breadmaker yeast. Then just switch the breadmaker on to do its stuff. Slice your bread, toast it as dark as you like it and spread thickly with Sun-Pat.
Win your dreams for the day!
Sun-Pat recently carried out some research into childhood dreams that revealed that we’re a nation of achievers, in fact 15.6M of us Brits have pursued their dreams in life. The research also found that over half of all Brits believe they would have pursued their dreams further if they had more energy as a child and 78% of adults believe it is easier for people to follow their dreams nowadays than when they were children.
Why not share what your dreams are for the chance to win prizes: Sun-Pat is offering two people the chance to experience their dream for a day alongside Olympic hero Adam Peaty or TV presenter Helen Skelton, with eight runner-up prizes of a year’s supply of Sun-Pat Peanut Butter and a £1,000 donation to a local group of their choice to ensure our future stars are equipped to achieve their own dreams. Pop over the Sun-Pat to see how you can get involved.
