Cutting H’s hair has been a bit of a trial recently. When he was smaller it was easy to snip off the odd bit and it seemed daft to go to the hairdresser’s or the barber’s. H’s hair is fairly forgiving to the novice hair cutter as it is quite wavy, even curly. Then he started to become more demanding about the cutting. I was only allowed three snips a day. His idea of three snips was slightly different to my three snips. It took several days to get his hair in order. Sometimes I’d try cutting it when he was asleep. He was resistant to going to the barber’s.
Eventually, we put our feet down and said that if he didn’t let me cut his hair properly. This worked slightly better at first. I had more than three snips. But, he wasn’t that cooperative and it was difficult to do a good job.
So we put our feet down again and off to the barber’s he went. He wasn’t very keen and he was a bit nervous. Afterall 7 years old is a bit on the old side for a first visit to the barber’s shop and it was all so new, but he went without too much complaining. He and Daddy went together. That’s the plan from now on: they’ll go together. H will have a bit of a tidy up in between at home because he isn’t having his hair cut as short as Daddy’s.
So here are the after pictures. He wasn’t terribly cooperative so I’ve had to do my best to catch him unawares.
