Epson, the printer people, asked us to review one of their WorkForce printers. Now we already have a printer at home, but there isn’t one at my parents’ house and both my brother and I have been known to work from there as it is a lot quieter than home sometimes. Add to that the fact that my dad is studying for a course and likes to print off his first, second , third … drafts of his essays and assignments. So this printer will be getting quite a lot of traffic.
The Workforce printer that we were trying out is designed for small businesses like mine and my brother’s, so it seemed perfect. In fact our WF-2750DWF printer is a 4-in-1 colour inkjet printer. This means it’s a piece of kit that can do 4 different tasks. It can print, copy, scan and fax. I don’t think we’ll be using the fax side of it very often, but it’s nice to have the option there if we do and I can see my parents using a fax more easily than scanning something into the computer to send it.
These days I am not allowed to set up things or assemble things or anything like that without my little assistant. H really did all the printer side of the set up himself from getting it out of the box to inserting the printer cartridges. The instructions were easy to follow and the set up was nothing that a 9-year-old couldn’t manage.
I did the next bit which was setting up the printer software on my parent’s laptop. It went pretty smoothly. There was one small hiccup, but it worked perfectly on the second run. I used a disk to set it up, but you can download software if you don’t have a disk drive on your computer. The whole process too less than half an hour and was remarkably stress free.
The key features of our Epson WF-2750DWF printer are:
- Business-quality duplex printing: Laser-like results (I can vouch for the results being high quality printing)
- 4-in-1: Scan, copy, print and fax
- Wi-Fi & Wi-Fi Direct: Print wirelessly wherever you are (I find this so convenient)
- Save money with individual inks: Only replace the colour used (there are 4 printer cartridges so this is easy to do and they are simple to remove/replace)
- Easy to use: 150 page front-loading paper tray
We are very happy with our new family printer and so far it’s coping very well with the demands placed on it.
