Apparently six out of 10 Brits say that they miss their bed more than their family, when away on holiday. This is according to a survey by leading bedding company Silentnight, which looked into what made a dream holiday for UK consumers. Peace and home comforts are top of the holiday wish list, with 52% of British holidaymakers just wanting rest and relaxation above everything else. 41% of respondents listed a good night’s sleep as a key criteria for a dream holiday, with 75% of respondents saying that fluffy pillows and duvets were more important than a balcony or mini bar in the hotel room.
I think it’s true that a good bed on holiday can make all the difference. When we went cruising we had a pretty basic cabin and the beds weren’t too good and whilst we didn’t want to leave the Caribbean, there was something to be said for getting back to a bigger, more comfortable bed. In Florida though we had a wonderful bed and that really made a difference to our stay: tears were shed when we had to leave.
