H is a bit of a fan of DK Books range of Lego® books. Not surprising really when he’s a Lego® fan and has even asked me to order some sort of Lego® instruction manual with his pocket-money that we are having shipped over from the States. This book, Lego® Nexo Knights™ Build Your Own Adventure, comes with a Robin minifigure and an exclusive battle suit. It was no surprise that assembling this was the first thing H did when he got his mitts on the book. He was quite chuffed about this figure and accessories and it’s still built and complete (rather than being used for parts in his own creations).
There’s a cardboard playing surface that comes out of the book and this is the box that originally held the Lego®. H hasn’t used this, but it’s reasonably robust so it would be practical to use.
The book itself is full of building ideas and H has tried a few of them out. He did moan a bit that some of the pieces used in the building ideas are fairly new and he doesn’t have very many of them, so he has been a bit limited in what he can try. He says the pieces come in several of the Nexo Knights™’s sets, but we only have a few Lego® Nexo Knights™’s sets and they tend to be the smaller ones, so we haven’t accumulated a very big stock yet. We might need to look into buying some individual pieces online.
H has really enjoyed the book though and he’s read it several times. Despite the piece availability problem he has been able to build things and he’s found his own ways round the lack of the right piece. Well worth a read (and a build) for Lego® fans.
