Just before H’s return to school this week, we had the chance to see the amazing Walking with Dinosaurs show at the NIA in Birmingham. It was a great afternoon out and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
As ever, H was reluctant to return to school, I must make the holidays too interesting. That said he soon settled back into the routine. We restarted our habit of doing an activity when we come back from school. Monday’s activity was an art one: painting a picture with dinosaurs. To give more room for artistic expression, I stuck four pieces of A4 paper together to create the landscape. Obviously, the first thing to do, after you’ve finished drawing, is to add in the blood with red paint.
It was a busy week for me too. Twice a year our NCT branch organises a nearly new sale and I have the job of coordinating the volunteers. I share the responsibility with a friend and we both have been doing it for quite a few years now. So it’s become something that’s fun too. We usually meet up at her house to do the planning ahead of the sale and make it a social occasion because we have boys of a similar age.
H tried out a tennis class for the first time this week. He went with his best friend to a local secondary school that hosts a tennis club after school and at the weekends. As luck would have it, the coach was someone who’d done some work at their school, so the boys were soon at ease. With H’s busy week back at school he’s been sleeping a little longer at night. Here’s a picture of him asleep with his CuddleUpPet wrapped around him.
