Cake is very definitely my weakness. Biscuits are nice, but I can live without them, even the posh cookie sort or homemade beauties. Chocolate, I love, but again whilst I’d miss chocolate, I could manage without it. Cake though is a bit different. Cake is very difficult to resist. I’d rather have a slice of cake than eat lunch. Nothing goes better with a cup of tea than a slice of cake.
Mr Kipling recently sent us some cakes and asked us to think of times that were better with cake. For me this is astonishingly easy as there are few things in life that aren’t better with cake. Picnics for example. Yes, you need sandwiches and snacks, but some cake finishes off your al fresco meal very nicely. It also makes it seem like more of an occasion rather than just a functional few sarnies eaten outside.
Another activity we have found is better with cake is going to the park after school. H always seems to be starving when he comes out of school and needs some energy to fuel his madcap antics in the playground. It’s no surprise that cake goes down the hatch very willingly and very quickly providing that boost to take him through to dinner.
