So on Saturday last weekend we went to the ThinkTank Museum in Birmingham. This is Birmingham’s science museum and a favourite place of H’s. We’d been invited along to see a preview of Dr Bunhead’s Very Dangerous Christmas Show. This is on at Birmingham Town Hall over Christmas and H loved the preview so much, he’s keen to go see the full show on the big stage. Before showtime we spent some time wandering round exploring the exhibits and having a fish and chips lunch in the cafe. H knows the museum very well and had a clear idea of where he wanted to visit, so I just went with the flow and followed him round. A lot of the exhibits are interactive and there’s lots to see and do.
During the week I went to another event with my other blog: A Little Luxury For Me. My husband was very happy to hear he could come too. We went to a blogger event at the The Balcony at Selfridges in Birmingham. It’s had a revamp and has reopened and looks stunning. With rather moreish cocktails and lots of lovely food like this stunning afternoon tea selection served on a miniature picnic bench, it was a real treat.
Throughout the week H has been walking around singing songs. He’s been keep to practise for the school nativity play. One night he even wanted the song sheets from the two previous shows so that he could sing those too (no idea why).
So this year H was an innkeeper and here he is in his costume. It’s not easy to take a picture from the second row when you seem to be sat behind women with very big heads. Not the best picture, but the only one I can show you because I’ve been able to crop everyone else in the play out of it. H was worn out after his day of performing (they do a morning and an afternoon show). During the meal we went for afterwards, he was very clingy and he fell asleep before lights out when it came to bedtime.
This week has been a week of wonderful dawns and some lovely sunsets too. I find it much easier to capture dawns from our back garden than sunsets. So I’ve been taking pictures all week of the gorgeous skies and I think this one is about the best.
