The other weekend I had a very pleasant evening with my sister and a friend of ours. One of the highlights of the evening was getting out some old photo albums and having a look through. It was great to replay the memories and talk about them with the people I’d experienced them with. I’ve tried to keep up with photo albums as H has grown up and I’ve managed it more successfully some years than others. Over the years we’ve made photo calendars for family and my parents are still using a now very faded Baby H mug. It’s a great way of sharing the memories with the people close to us and keeping in touch with friends and family.
Over the years we have experimented with different ways of showcasing our pictures and this is one of the things that caught my eye when I visited the new look Jessops store in Sainsburys, Oldbury, West Midlands today. It’s one of 4 so far around the country that has a new look and a very modern vibe. You can still print off ordinary photos there, but there’s so much more you can do with your pictures too. I was very taken with some of the fabulous frames and ways of displaying a collage of photos or an ever-changing selection of your choice.
I love the idea of scrapbooking where you can collect keepsakes (like concert tickets) and make a record with them alongside the pictures you’ve taken. You can do this with some of the picture display options too and I think adds a really personal touch as well as looking great.
Jessops staff are knowledgeable photographers and are available to give you advice on your pictures, help with editing and make suggestions as to how to make them look their best. Some of the options for wall art are stunning and I love the idea of a glass panel for my kitchen. I just need to find the right picture now.
It was lovely to meet all the staff at Jessops and to be there for their store opening. I think I’ll be popping back again soon.
