Another year, another week of photographs and adventures. I am not going to take a picture every day just for the sake of it, but the camera is out most days in this house, so there is usually something to show you.
At the weekend and the early part of the this week, H was still off school. We worked on a craft project together that was themed around The Secret Life of Pets movie.
New Year’s Eve doesn’t mean a lot to me now that I’m not out on the town, so I was asleep in bed as the New Year struck. H decided that he would like to see the New Year in, but we felt it would be too late. The compromise was bed at the usual time and then getting up to see the New Year in. I’m not sure H will bother another year: apparently it was cold downstairs after his nice warm bed and he didn’t seem to enjoy it much, but he did it.
We had free tickets to see Aladdin at Wolverhampton Grande on Wednesday. It wasn’t ideal because it was a late night after H’s first day back at school. That said, the pantomime was really excellent and very funny (this coming from someone who isn’t a huge panto fan). H loved it. He seemed to be coping with the late night and was quite chirpy on the train home, but the short car ride seemed to be the final straw and I had a very floppy boy to put to bed. I did get two 7am lie-ins the days following, so there were some compensations, but he has been a bit grumpy. If you want to go see the panto, their run continues for a couple of weeks yet, so there is still time.
Back to our after school routine as well this week with the return of swimming classes. Annoyingly school swimming lessons start up this term again too and on the same day, so he will be swimming twice on the same day.
