A week of ups and downs really. Saturday night was fun. I went to a local quiz night with friends and had a lovely time. We didn’t do badly considering we weren’t fielding our best team and I think we came in about 5th. After the quiz, onto the pub and then back to a friend’s house, I eventually rocked up home after 2am. I can’t remember the last time I was out that late. No photos I’m afraid – I was having too good a time.
A chilled out Sunday followed and I just have this shot to show for it. We are trying out some new catfood for a review piece. It comes in dry form and you add water.
A grim view for me on Tuesday as I took Mum to the hospital for her consultant’s appointment. It was as we expected really as the consultant had already said he was pretty sure: she has Motor Neurone Disease. It’s affected her speech and her swallowing first and she can barely speak now. Luckily, it hasn’t spread to her limbs at the moment, so she is doing most of the things she used to do still. Then I had to update the family about it as Mum can’t and I don’t think she took everything in either, which is why I was there in part. A traumatic day really and one I was glad to see the end of.
Then the next day I took myself off to meet up with friends. I was a complete numskull though and had transferred the wrong date into the diary from my phone. Luckily I was meeting them at their house, so I still got a chat and a cuppa. Then back the next day for our day out with lunch at the Toby Carvery. It was what I needed to lift the week.
