Last Saturday seems an age away now. We had a busy day of catching up with work, housework and toys. Henry was getting his new toys (from his birthday) out of their packets and boxes. There was still time to rediscover old toys. Henry came upstairs to see what Mummy was up to and was distracted with his old aquadraw.
Sunday was a similar sort of day. Henry got on with some projects while Mummy was busy packing. Here he is making a trash robot. We had Sunday lunch at my parents, but didn’t do much else.
Monday was the first day of our very enjoyable trip to Alton Towers. Here’s Henry on their crazy golf range (separate admission to the theme park). We had a busy day going to the theme park and the water park. Henry loved it all, but the water park got especially glowing praise from him. It was such a lovely surprise to find out that I’d won the trip last week. It had to be taken at short notice, but in a way that added to the excitement of it all.
This next picture wasn’t taken by me as I’m on top of the climbing wall. Purists may say I should have taken every Project 366 picture myself, but I think this is a reasonable exception. I’d never tried rock climbing before, but found it quite easy (there were a lot of hand holds though). I scooted up quite quickly because I was keen to come down. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not scared of heights, but coming down has always looked like the fun part. Having tried it, I can say it is the fun part.
Wednesday saw us back down to earth. We had a quiet day mostly at home. In the morning though we popped into a charity shop and picked up a load of lego for 99 pence. We had our eye on the lego base plates that make up the top of this box, but there were windows, doors, wheels, horses and stairs inside as well as the standard lego bricks. Henry had as much fun rummaging through his treasure trove and washing it (it was a bit grumby in parts) as playing with it.
Thursday saw us doing more of the same. One of today’s activities involved creating this aeroplane from a cardboard box. Henry had a friend round in the afternoon to help him fly it.
Friday’s fun activity was slime sculpture. We got some orange slime as a free gift at Alton Towers. Here is Henry creating some sculptures on pyrex.
