A week of two halves really: a super busy first half of the week followed by a largely uneventful stay at home out of the rain sort of few days.
At the weekend H’s cousins were still here and we went out for a big family meal. H and the boys sat together – not sure what was going on with the doll though. I know my brother was using it to play some of my nephews up, so it might have been the subject of some kind of game. The kids had a great time although two of them decided to throw up which filled me with dread, but it seemed it was down to too enthusiastic downing of fizzy drinks because both kids ate big meals afterwards (I don’t think they would have done that if it had been a bug).
On Sunday I went over to the Balti Triangle for a meal. We are spoilt for choice for curries in Birmingham, so I rarely bother going to the Balti Triangle to eat. We had a very nice meal, but I was shocked by the state of the parking over in that park of town. The pavements were full of vehicles. We had been told that the restaurant had parking at the rear, but I think it was a bit optimistic to think we could park there even on a late Sunday afternoon. There were cars everywhere. Luckily if you were prepared to walk more than a minute or so, there was plenty of parking to be had so I parked a few minutes away and walked back. The meal was very nice and this restaurant has won quite a few awards.
Monday saw us at Twycross Zoo for a review. We’d last gone there when H was a toddler and he couldn’t remember our visit. They specialise in monkeys and apes, so we saw plenty of those. Tuesday was a busy day. Some friends came round we went for a walk, had lunch and the children played all afternoon.
From then on we did virtually nothing and the rain meant that we weren’t tempted out. We did need a few quiet days though after a hectic week last week. I’d left these days free because my sister was supposed to be coming, but she got confused with her dates and was here last week instead, so we had nothing on. It’s been quite nice, but I’m glad to see the back of the rain today and get out of the house.
